Shannon Ivey, MFA, AEA, is an artist. She creates socially minded events and experiences with and for communities. She has spent over 25 years creating as an actress, director, activist, coach, facilitator, and educator. Many know her from her StorySlam events and performances. Ms. Ivey is also a Tedx Presenter. She holds an MFA in Acting from UNC Greensboro and a BA in Theatre from Mississippi University for Women. Ms. Ivey has over 23 years of professional and community experience facilitating workshops, directing or devising plays, musicals, and creating performative experiences for audiences of all ages. Ms. Ivey is the proud founder of the #whatshesaidproject, which uses first person storytelling to empower women of all ages.
She facilitates Story Slams and other interactive experiences under that name. In 2018, Shannon collaborated with the City of Columbia and the Knight Foundation on an event that was facilitated at the SC State House steps called “36 questions”
