James Ivy, through his artistry, creates sculpture incorporating natural history items such as fossil fish, ammonites, trilobites, and meteorites. He does so in a way that invokes the perception of motion and life into inanimate objects that were once in action tens of millions, if not billions, of years ago. The sculptures are constructed of organic substances such as bronze, copper, steel, stone, wood, and leather.
