Panel on Global Refugee Crisis

In commemoration of World Refugee Day, the CMA hosts the Carolina Peace Resource Center for a panel discussion. Refugee resettlement has recently been at the center of heated political debate about immigration and national security. But this is not the first time that a refugee crisis has generated such controversy. This talk will put current refugee debates into historical perspective and show how refugees have long been subject to competing impulses of humanitarianism and isolationism in American society.
