Piece by Piece: Opening Reception

September 12th, 2019 – 5:30pm to 7:00pm

Join McKissick Museum as we celebrate the opening of our newest exhibition in our Diverse Voices series. The quilts in “Piece by Piece: Quilts from the Permanent Collection” illustrate the evolution of this textile tradition over the past one hundred and fifty years. From the early use of chintz fabrics to the widespread popularity of solid colors, these quilts reflect traditions with roots in Europe, Africa, and the American South. This event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
