Walk this beautiful winding trail with us to see where the Civil War Battle of Congaree Creek was fought or see the site of the First Fort Congaree and Trading Post.
Civil War Battle of Congaree Creek:
Walk with us to learn the story of a miserable rainy day in 1865 where two armies met on either side of the Congaree Creek and the Earthworks, built to protect the City of Columbia.
First Fort Congaree:
Learn how European settlers came here to trade with natives and stayed to plant farms and fortified houses, which figured in the American Revolution.
All tours are led by National Park Service trained volunteers and are about 2 miles (60 to 90 minutes).

We recommend that you wear comfortable shoes bring a hat, sunscreen, insect repellent and plenty of water. Although dogs are permitted on the trails, we ask that you do not bring them on the tours.
