Written and directed by Gregory Nava, El Norte is an Oscar-nominated drama about two siblings and their journey North after fleeing the Guatemalan Civil War. While this film is fictional, it draws a parallel to the many individuals in Central America who are currently seeking asylum in the United States.

This film is presented by the Nickelodeon Theatre in partnership with the Carolina Peace Resource Center.
