The South Carolina Arts Commission Fellows 2018 Exhibition is yet another way Lake City will celebrate its history and future. What was once one of South Carolina’s most prosperous agricultural communities now flourishes with art-focused events that recognize, celebrate and share the artistic talent of the Southeast.
Lake City is the site of ArtFields®, the Southeast’s biggest art competition. The annual 9-day competition draws more than 20,000 people to the area and awards $120,000 in total cash prizes to artists across all media in 12 Southeastern states.
The Jones-Carter Gallery is a product of the Lake City Creative Alliance in Lake City, S.C., which is dedicated to providing visitors access to fine visual art.
Individual artists working in prose, poetry, acting and playwriting can apply for the SCAC FY2019 fellowship awards. Applications open now and the deadline to apply is Nov. 1, 2017.
