Beginning Glaze Application

This workshop will focus on application and use of cone 5 glazes. Basic application methods will be taught, including dipping, pouring, trailing, brushing, and spraying. Masking and resist techniques will be covered. How to minimize common problems will be addressed. Cone 5 glazes will be the focus. Participants should bring 2 or 3 bisque pieces of stoneware or porcelain to test techniques. The pieces should not exceed 6 inches in any direction.
Age Restriction: Must be 15 or older

• Minimizing pin-holing and crawling
• Wax resist, stencil, and other masking techniques
