Artbreak: Van Gogh to the Countryside

University of South Carolina history professor Carol Harrison leads the discussion on how 19th-century French artists idealized rural society just as industrialization was transforming the French countryside. The painters Van Gogh studied commemorated this world and shaped his responses to modernization.
