Healing art classes offer participants creative outlets to use in managing present and future stress and trauma. The structured workshops foster a healing environment by providing supportive conversation about shared experiences that offer an alternative strategy for coping with post traumatic stress. Casual group discussions during the class add comradery and security knowing that you are not alone in our struggles. No art experience is necessary to participate in a healing art workshop. Each class will have a unique theme used to guide the creative process. Participants are welcome to follow the theme or create on their own. All materials are provided by The Big Red Barn Retreat.
Each week will offer something different, but you need not be a “Bob Ross” to attend. So,if you served this great country or are currently serving? Family, relationships, work, deployment, returning home and civilian life can be just a few of life’s stress triggers. Join us as we discover and discuss healthy, creative and artistic ways to handle stress in a Healing Art Workshop.
Spouses and/or significant others are welcome and encouraged to attend, but it’s not a couples class. Please no children… mainly so everyone can speak freely and ‘colorfully’ if the opportunity should arise.
