Under the Microscope

Join South Carolina artist Alicia Leeke and Dr. Tammi Richardson, from the University of South Carolina’s Department of Biological Sciences, for a brief lecture about the importance of phytoplankton and a viewing of the art exhibition Under the Microscope. Leeke partnered with Dr. Richardson for a year-long project to sample and collect phytoplankon from Darrell Creek in Mount Pleasant and Quinine Hill Lake in Columbia, SC. The result is a vibrant collection of 18 digital works that showcase the beauty found in these organisms.
