Join the Jasper Project as we present the premiere staged reading of the Winner of the 2026 Jasper Play Right Project, "The Counting Table" by DK Turner. Directed by iconic theatre artist Jocelyn Sanders, "The Counting Table" tells the story of a Southern family as it deals with issues of legacy, tradition, and worldly goods at stake with issues with the Heirs Property, a law that affects many in the South and beyond.
"The Counting Table" features a dynamic cast that includes Marilyn Mattheus, Bonita Peeples, Samuel McWhite, and Tashera Pravato.
New this year: break bread with the cast and crew following the play with a special meal inspired by "The Counting Table." The dinner includes baked BBQ chicken, green beans, rice, cornbread, a dessert, and a drink! Catered by Terrance Chisholm.
