This highly recognizable feature of Columbia is located atop a centrally-located hill in Finlay Park. The fountain feeds a waterfall and rapids that cascade down the hill. It could be said that the park and its fountain create an urban oasis amid downtown Columbia.  The park was originally named Sidney Park and designed by architect Robert Marvin. The fountain was installed by Robert J Ljungdahl of Amenities Ltd in Lake Lure, NC.
