The mural, located on the exterior of the community center, served multiple purposes including: enhancing the physical structure and providing an opportunity for Ariel Flowers a local emerging artist, to learn under the direction of a more established artist, the esteemed John Hairston. "The visually-striking mural represents the effort of the Community Center to assist children and families in the Midlands by meeting their educational, cultural and spiritual needs while encouraging them to use their own talents to make a positive difference in their communities." -Midlands Anchor
