Cruiser Division 12 Memorial

 Dedicated April 20, 1991. This monument, dedicated to “perpetuate the memory of the valian shipmates who served aboard the gallant ship U.S.S. Columbia CL-56, especially those killed and missing in actino during World War II” by the U.S.S. Columbia CL-56 Association. The monument features the offical commendation awarded to the ship and its crew by Secretar of the Navy, James Forrestal. A record of the officers and men killed and missing in action as well as the actions and operations of the U.S.S. Columbia are also shown on the monument. The jackstaff mounted on the U.S.S. Columbia, salvaged when the ship was being disassembled in 1959 stands next to the monument.
