The Columbia City Jazz Dance Company (CCJC), an internationally known not-for-profit 501(c)(3) dance troupe specializing in contemporary jazz dance styles, was presented with a special education award by the Cultural Council of Richland and Lexington Counties for the 2013/2013 seasons and was named by Dance
Spirit Magazine as one of the “Top 50 Dance Companies in the US”.  The dance company and school is located minutes from Riverbanks Zoo.  The preprofessional dance company ages 6 – 18 years of age, under the direction of Dale Lam,  never ceases to amaze audiences with their creativity, stamina, and passion for their art.

It is the mission of the Columbia City Jazz Dance Company (CCJC) to become a professional training facility and home to an award winning ensemble of highly skilled pre-professional contemporary and jazz dancers. Utilizing their technical skills and choreography, CCJC will demonstrate the varying art forms of contemporary and jazz dance to the under served arts audiences of South Carolina through a series of live community performances and through community outreach training programs. In addition, by hosting nationally known guest instructors, Columbia City Jazz Dance Company seeks to become a training center for contemporary and jazz dance excellence in the southeastern United States.
