Physics & Astronomy Public Lecture: "The Promise and Challenges of Super Resolution Microscopy"

Presented by USC Department of Physics and Astronomy at W. Hootie Johnson Hall

Dr. William E. Moerner is the Harry S. Mosher Professor of Chemistry and Professor by courtesy of Applied Physics at Stanford University (Stanford, CA). He has been elected as a member to numerous prestigious scientific organizations such as the National Academy of Sciences and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. Dr. Moerner also serves as a Fellow of both the American Physical Society and the American Association for the Advancement of Science. In 2014, he was named a co-winner of the Nobel Prize in Chemistry for his leadership in and contributions to the development of super-resolved fluorescence microscopy.

This public lecture will take place on Friday, March 23 at the W.W. Hootie Johnson Performance Hall in the Darla Moore School of Business (Room #101) at 6:00 pm. The content will be presented at a level accessible to a broad general audience.

This lecture is free of charge and all are welcome to attend! No reservations are required, but seating will be on a first-come, first-served basis. We hope you can join us for this special event!
