Happiness Bomb exhibit hits Tapp's this October!

The artists' collective, Happiness Bomb, is setting October off with a bang of good cheer at Tapp's Art Center. Happiness Bomb will light up the month with an assortment of puppets, instruments, cartoons and interactive installations in their self-titled exhibit "Meat Me At Tapp's" that is sure to bring a smile.

Throughout the month of October, Happiness Bomb will reinvent Tapp's into a delightful world of mischief, mayhem and rock 'n' roll. Columbia is encouraged to converge on Main Street for this experience as this bomb's elements will have something for the community at large. The artwork featured will include shadow boxes, puppets, sculptures, an interactive projection screen and, even though winter has not yet come, rumor has it that there might even be an igloo on the premises. The list of participating artists includes, but is not limited to: 4-HO-MET, Andy Mongoose Finkle, David Hamiter, The Good Witch, Kara Gunter, Era Elizabeth, Orphan Party, Mike Pope, Sara Bethea, The 3rd Grade, Tanya Keller, Sailor Pope, John Stroman, TOOTHBRUSHER and Willie White.

Caitlin Bright, of Tapp's, states, "This is going to be an exciting wonderland from the inventive imaginations of some of Columbia's premier artists. It's a must-see for your First Thursday itinerary." This exhibit will truly blow your mind.

Find your own piece of happiness in the Happiness Bomb Art Show Rummage Sale that will be held throughout October. On October 24th, join us at 7:00pm for a night of fun with the Rock'n'Roll BBQ Puppet Dinner Theater presenting George Orwell's, "Hungry Times at Animal Farms" (stupefied by Happiness Bomb) with real BBQ by Joe Turkaly. Finally, be sure to finish out the month with Happiness Bomb's final blowout at the Halloween spectacular.

Since 2012 Tapp's Art Center has been providing Columbia's art community with a central hub to explore their creativity in all its diversity. Tapp's, located on 1644 Main Street in downtown Columbia, strives to encourage local artists by providing a communal space, studios and public exhibition opportunities to keep the city creatively charged. The ultimate goal of Tapp's is to be the conduit for contemporary art innovation and development.
