Through her work, Falk asks, “What do we hold dear and worthy?
We ask ourselves, do fences make good neighbors? Is the grass really greener on the other side? Exploring built and found landscapes, I consider how we define home and how we value personal space..Falk’s work ruminates on our relationships and collaborations with the manufactured and natural landscapes we inhabit. They contemplate the struggles and connections we have with each other and the need to find a place to call our own…How do we negotiate this world of physical and psychological borders? How do we find our place?
Home travels within and without.”

McMaster Gallery is located in the University of South Carolina’s School of Visual Art and Design at 1615 Senate Street, Columbia, SC. The gallery is free and open to the public Monday – Friday 9:00 am – 4:30 pm
