“Blowin’ In the Wind: Music that Changed America”

 As we approach our nineteenth and twentieth seasons as the premier professional choir in South Carolina, the Sandlapper Singers present “ Winds of Change.” These two years will be an exciting celebration and transition as our artistic leader and co-founder passes on the baton.

OCTOBER 2 & 3, 2014            “Blowin’ In the Wind: Music that Changed America
The music will focus on significant periods in America’s musical history including songs from our earliest American composers, the influence of immigrant cultures, musical theater, and a strong emphasis on the latter part of the 20th century including the “pop” music genre.  Guest artists will include the Dick Goodwin Quintet, our 2014 vocal scholarship winner, and South Carolina pop vocal artist Kristi Hood.  Venues: 7:30 pm Thursday –Shandon Presbyterian, 607 Woodrow St 29205; 7:30 pm Friday– Spring Valley Presbyterian,   125 Sparkleberry Lane 29229 across from Spring Valley High  Adult tickets are $15 and “All Children Free All the Time” (ages 12 and under, accompanied by an adult with a ticket).
