Join the CMA and the Alliance Française for the final film screening of CinéCola, a locally organized and funded effort to promote French-language film. Ma Vie De Courgette (My Life as a Zucchini) is a marvelously nuanced and finely crafted depiction of childhood that appeals to both the young and the young at heart. It is imbued with a real-life sense of childhood wonder, both through its inventive animation and its commitment to exclusively telling the story from the children’s perspectives. Premiering at Director’s Fortnight at the Cannes Film Festival, the film wooed general audiences for its idiosyncratic style and bold treatment of its subjects. Most recently it was nominated for a 2017 Academy Award for Best Animated Feature. Hot chocolate and cookies will be served after the screening.
