Sally Peek, creator, designer and artist of Nana Bags, will be bringing her popular beautifully designed and skillfully made bags for your delight and purchase. This event is in conjunction with the First Friday Art Crawl on State Street.
Sally Peek best describes her work, inspiration, and purpose in her own words.
“My bags marry carefully curated textiles and leathers with clean and modern silhouettes. I use end-bolts of fabrics and leather “seconds” in many of the bags I create. The incorporation of these high-quality, but otherwise wasted materials allows me to sell a product that is not only well made, but also created with a social conscience. I love working with materials that tell a story.
When I started my business, I chose to name it after the matriarch of my family, my great-grandmother, Nana. I hope we all have a Nana in our life story, a person who constantly sets a positive example for us, and someone who loves us unconditionally.
I think about the loyalty of my own community when I reflect on the growth and evolution of my career. I love my customers and value my relationships with each of them. They are the reason I continue to create.”
