CWAC is proud to present the Future of Korea, a program of  the World Affairs Councils of America and the Korean Economic Institute, focusing on the political, economic, and security situation on the Korean Peninsula as well as U.S.-Korea relations. A panel discussion with representatives from the Embassy of the Republic of KoreaKorea Economic Institute (KEI), and the U.S. Department of State as it’s centerpiece, the program also includes ancillary events and activities.

North Korea launched an intercontinental ballistic missile on July 28. Around the globe, $1.5 trillion drained out of stock markets within 3 days. South Korea continues to grow economically into a thriving global market despite constant threats and provocations from North Korea.

Join us for a special panel discussion luncheon to deepen our understanding of Korea and the U.S.- Korean relationship with a focus on the domestic economic situation in Korea, the recent May election, and plans for economic reform. The luncheon features an engaging panel discussion with Joshua Pierce, U.S. Department of State, Office of Korean Affairs; Jin Won Choi, Counselor, Embassy of the Republic of Korea; and Kyle Ferrier, Director of Academic Affairs and Research for the Korean Economic Institute. The discussion is followed by a Q&A session.
