Lexington Midsummer Festival

Lexington Midsummer Festival

Presented by Midsummer Festival at Lexington Ampitheatre

Don’t tell the attendees of Lexington Midsummer Festival that the suburbs are an unlikely place for a music festival. In past years the festival has brought in bluegrass prodigies Sierra Hull and Justin Moses, fourteen-time GRAMMY winner Ron Block (of Alison Krauss and Union Station), two-time GRAMMY nominee singer/songwriter Cindy Morgan, and folk/gospel singer Sandra McCracken. This year’s festival will be headlined by Nashville folk rockers Drew Holcomb and the Neighbors. Also appearing are local Midlands bands Prettier than Matt, The Post-Timey String Band, and Slim Pickens.

Admission to the local stage and food truck area are free as in past years, while tickets to the headliner concert with Drew Holcomb are $12 in advance and $15 at the door. This year’s festival will take place in Lexington’s brand new Icehouse Amphitheater. “We understand an evening of shared food and music to be an investment in the flourishing of businesses, artists, and relationships.” said festival promoter Tim Nicholson. “In uniting businesses, schools, and churches to sponsor an event like this we hope to see our community prosper.” The mayor of Lexington, Steve McDougall, will introduce the headlining act.

The 2017 Midsummer Festival is sponsored by Lexington Presbyterian Church, Radius Church, the Lexington School of Music, and Kohl’s department store. This year’s festival will take place on Friday, August 25th, 2017 and will include:
A local stage featuring free performances from three local SC bands
A food truck fair featuring a half-dozen food trucks from around South Carolina
A headliner concert with Drew Holcomb and the Neighbors beginning at 8:00pm
