Shape Shifters & Metamorphosis

Shape Shifters & Metamorphosis

Presented by hallway: community art at 701 Whaley

Soda city Artist sets free a Murder of Crows upon 701's Hallway Art Gallery.

The hanging will commence within Columbia, South Carolina at 701 Whaley Hallway Art gallery from September 1st to November 1st. The opening reception will take place on October 15 at 6-8 pm with hors d'oeuvres.

Columbia native Tennyson Kovach Corley has imagined and created a world of colorful whimsy and unique expression amidst the chaos of our day-to-day lives. Each unique painting shows the viewer the powerful emotion of the nature we pass idly by every day. Using various techniques with mixed media Tennyson has indeed captured a magical world of flora and fauna, and shape-shifter alike.

With nature as her guiding force and the honor of hanging in shows including: The Painted Violins (Anastasia and Friends), 52 Windows (701 Whaley Gallery), and Honorable Mention in The Criteron. Using acrylic paint with spray bottles and homemade mediums of fiber and minerals on readily available surfaces(ie hand stretched canvas and dry wall predominately) she is able to create a world and vision all her own.

Tennyson lives to create and creates to live. Surrounding her self in nature and all it's inhabitants she is able to see something that may go unnoticed by the hustle and bustle of daily life. Whether it's a murder of crows morphing or a beautiful bouquet of flowers becoming a tiding of magpies, Tennyson's art catches nature at it's most beautiful.
