A 4-Week Workshop Series on Auditioning

Tuesdays in July (8, 15, 22 & 29) 6-7 PM

You have dreams of stardom. You crave the spotlight. You have perfected five different accents, but the notion of the audition leaves you cowering in the fetal position drowning in a puddle of nerves and self-loathing.

Learn how to audition like a pro and score the role in this interactive audition class series. The Developing Your Bag of Tricks series will teach the audition process from selecting, analyzing, rehearsing, and performing an audition monologue to conquering the dreaded cold reading.

Jodie Cain Smith, acting instructor and published writer, will teach you how to make any casting director take notice of you. Learn how to take risks, audition with confidence, set yourself apart from the pack & maximize your auditioning potential.

No experience is necessary.

LEAD INSTRUCTOR BIO:

Jodie Cain Smith holds a BFA in Theatre Arts and a Master’s degree in Education. She served as the Middle School Theatre Director for UMS-Wright Preparatory School in Mobile, Alabama for four years before marrying into the military and starting her journey as an Army Wife and traveling artist. Jodie has written, performed, directed, and designed for theaters from Alabama to Michigan and Texas to Georgia, and is now thrilled to call Columbia, South Carolina, “home.” As a writer, Jodie’s work has been featured in Chicken Soup for the Military Wife’s Soul andThe Savannah Morning News, and her debut novel, The Woods at Barlow Bend, will be released January 2015, courtesy of Deer Hawk Publications.
