The wind faculty from the University of South Carolina and East Carolina University join forces for a program of works for double wind quintet (flute, oboe, clarinet, horn, and bassoon). Featured will be dapplegray, a new piece by USC composition professor David K. Garner based on the folk lullaby All the Pretty Horses, for double quintet and electronic playback, along with Swiss Romantic composer Joachim Raff’s engaging Sinfonietta and Argentinian tango king Astor Piazzolla’s high-energy Libertango. Garner will attend the concert and talk about his piece.
