Skins and Text Installation 2014

Skins and Text Installation 2014

Presented by School of Visual Art and Design at Unknown

Professor Olszewski is exploring his theories about cultural identity and contemporary images of Native Americans. His 2005 Pontiac Montana will be on display with a vinyl car cover. The covers are painted and decorated with Native American based corporate logos, text and colorful design imagery. Participants can add to the surface by drawing, painting or writing (creative materials will be provided).

Professor Williams creates text-based installations with an emphasis on place and the environment. His current body of work started after the 2010 BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. The text is cast in the landscape using only natural materials, documented and presented on shaped panels.
