A Conversation with Soni at Richland Library

Presented by Richland Library at Richland Library, Main Branch

Join Jim “Soni” Sonefeld of Hootie & The Blowfish and Mike Miller, author of the 1997 biography “Hootie!,” for a fun and informative discussion on the making of Hootie’s debut album, “Cracked Rear View,” in the Bostick Auditorium at Richland Library, Saturday afternoon, June 14, from 3 to 4 p.m. It’s a 20th anniversary celebration of “Cracked Rear View,” which was released on July 5, 1994. Soni will talk about the band’s trip to California to record with legendary producer Don Gehman; how the songs were written and recorded; the excitement leading up to the release; and the band’s amazement as their debut became the bestselling album in America. “Cracked Rear View” was No. 1 on the Billboard Albums Chart on five different occasions, and it went on to sell more than 10 million copies, making it one of the biggest-selling debuts ever. This event is free and open to the public.
