The Friends of the Lexington County Museum are pleased to announce they will be holding their annual fundraiser gala starting at 6 pm on Saturday March 25, 2017. Although the fundraiser has been held in late January for many years, the board of the Friends of the Museum felt that a date later in the spring was better due to the fact that late January often has inclement weather. The date may have changed, but the gala will still feature the fun aspects that attendees have come to expect and love. Like the past several years, the fundraiser will be held at Lexington’s Town Hall (111 Maiden Lane Lexington) and will begin at 6 pm. Frank Macaulay and the Great Society Band will provide music again this year as well. Tickets will be $60 in advance this year and sponsorship opportunities ranging from $150 to $2500 are available. Tickets at the door will be $65. As always, the ticket price includes dinner, drinks, and dancing. We are pleased to announce that the Root Cellar will be catering this year so expect great food that highlights local produce in Lexington County! This year, the Friends’ fundraiser will have Lexington’s agricultural heritage as its theme. Lexington County has a long history of farming, husbandry, forestry, and other forms of agriculture. This event will explore that history while showcasing the present. Local farmers and producers will have displays at the event and free samples!

The gala will also feature a silent auction where guests can bid on exciting items from local businesses. All funds raised will go to assist the museum in replacing the roof of the circa 1810 Daniel Koon House and the enhancement of exhibits at the museum. Donations are tax-deductible.
