62nd ANNUAL JURIED STUDENT EXHIBITION

Exhibition Dates: February 23rd – March 16th, 2017

Please join us on Thursday February 23rd from 5:00pm to 7:00pm for the Opening Reception and Awards Ceremony at 6:00pm in the McMaster Gallery.

The 62nd Annual Juried Student Exhibition will include original artworks of a variety of mediums by current undergraduate and graduate students of the University of South Carolina’s School of Visual Art and Design.

This year’s juror will be Catherine Walworth, Ph.D., the new Curator at the Columbia Museum of Art. Walworth received her master’s degree from the University of Washington and her doctorate from The Ohio State University where she specialized in modern art from 1850-1950, Russian art, and early film. Starting her museum career at the Seattle Art Museum, Walworth has had extensive curatorial experience working at significant institutions around the country including the McNay Art Museum in San Antonio and the Cleveland Museum of Art. Most recently, Walworth served as the curatorial research assistant on the exhibition Silver to Steel: The Modern Designs of Peter Muller-Munk at Carnegie Museum of Art in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In addition to her curatorial experience, Walworth has been a freelance arts writer since 2003.

The presentation of awards will include: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place undergraduate winners, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place graduate winners, and one Best of Show winner.

McMaster Gallery is located in the University of South Carolina’s School of Visual Art and Design at 1615 Senate Street, Columbia, SC with accessible street parking on Pickens, Senate, and Henderson.
