Columbia City Ballet launches its Spring season with an enchanting production of Swan Lake, featuring choreography by Executive Director William Starrett. The production will be accompanied by the full South Carolina Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Morihiko Nakahara himself and opens from Friday, Jan. 27 at 7:30 p.m. through Saturday, Jan. 28 at 6:30 p.m. at the Koger Center for the Arts with a Black and White Ball to close the weekend. This will mark the first time in ten years that Columbia City has graced the stage with its performance of Swan Lake. This year with a world renowned guest artist, Joseph Phillips, deemed the “golden boy” from top publications. Phillips will be the featured premier danseur in the Friday evening performance alongside company Soloist Annie Ruiz. He is the holder of more gold medals than any other American dancer and currently works in the Primorsky Stage of the Mariinksy Theatre. The Saturday night performance features Ballerina Regina Willoughby and Principal Dancer Christopher Miro.
