This Thursday (1/5/17) at Tapp’s Arts Center will be the opening of a large scale audio-visual installation piece called BeAsPacificAsPossible::26
Custom software takes data in real-time from NOAA buoys distributed across the Pacific Ocean. This data is used to drive oscillators, creating a sonic representation of the current meteorological and atmospheric conditions in the Pacific. The sounds produced by these oscillators are transmitted in 17-channel audio through a large geodesic dome in the center of Tapp’s. OK Keyes is collaborating to provide audio-reactive projections within the dome.

The piece will be on display for the month of January, starting on Jan 5th until Feb 2nd.
