2015 is the year of Beethoven for the A.W. Duo—Alyona Aksyonova on piano and James Waldo on cello. During their two-night stint at the CMA, the duo plays the complete cello sonatas. In addition to their visit to museum, the ensemble will perform complete Beethoven cycles in New York City for the YM&MHA Center and for the Listen Closely Chamber Music Initiative, an effort led by the musicians of upper Manhattan to meaningfully and sustainably engage with the musically underserved residents who share the neighborhood.
