City Art is pleased to announce, after a very long hiatus, our newest exhibition from artist Morey Weinstein entitled “The Art of Realism”. An opening reception will be held on November 9th, 2023, from 5:00 – 8:00 pm. The exhibition will remain on display in the main gallery through December 2023.
Morey Weinstein is a hyper realistic artist who happily landed in the mediums of airbrush acrylic on canvas and sculpture techniques. Having been exposed to many gallery showings, he vividly remembers the precise moment that changed his life forever. It came at the age of 12. While attending a gallery showing with his parents at the Hirschhorn Museum in Washington DC, the Realistic Fine Art of Richard Estes was on display. He describes the interaction with Estes work as “mesmerizing and life changing.” This single experience as a child, standing in front of Estes work trying to figure out how Estes created a level of realism that made his paintings look like photography, instantly put Morey on the pathway to become the Hyper Realistic Fine Artist he is today. Morey’s work falls somewhere between whimsical with a twist of pop culture and a lover of Historical Iconic Images and present-day controversies.
Over decades, Morey’s work has catapulted into the world of Fine Art and has become popular worldwide with his uncanny way of pleasing the viewers eye and holding an audience captive through use of color, shadowing, shading, reflection, and light, all one-of-a-kind creations, and all artistically crafted by hand… Some say the old-fashioned way because no computers are involved. Every piece created is one of a kind with no reprints and every creation is a Hyper-Realistic Show piece created to make audiences stop dead in their tracks and notice something they probably know, love, or appreciate but never noticed their intricate details.
