An open invitation to South Carolina middle and high school girls for a day of masterclasses, connection, concert and jam session. South Carolina Music Educators are welcome to register for the JGD: Jazz Education session.
Jazz at USC presents JAZZ GIRLS DAY, an annual initiative that invites and inspires girls from South Carolina to join the Jazz Faculty at one of three locations for a day filled with learning, playing, and performing. One of the goals of the day is to help girls around the state prepare for their All-State jazz auditions, although this is not a requirement to attend. The idea behind JAZZ GIRLS DAY is not only to welcome girls to start or continue playing jazz but also encourage South Carolina music educators to encourage girls to play jazz.
