Absolute Theatre Company will be holding auditions Saturday, September 24, at 9 AM. Actors are needed for the first 2022-23 season of staged radio shows. The first production, “A Dickens of a Christmas,” needs 5 actors, Male and Females 16-? Actors will play multiple characters using British and other accents. Also needed are a group of 5 children for a small choir, sound effects, and children’s speaking parts. All actors will receive a small stipend. Performances begin Saturday, November 25th, and continue December 1-4th.

Absolute Theater Company has shaken off the dust of the Covid Lockdown after two years of waiting in the wings. Professional Director Kate Brighton is ready to get the show back on the road. St. Michael Lutheran Church has graciously allowed Absolute Theater to use its facilities for the season 4 productions. The concept of staged radio shows was a chance to do something different and a concept to fit the theater’s trimmed-down sets and ease in mobility. It also offers less memorization as actors use “radio scripts.” The action of each play doesn’t stay in the “Old Blue Church Radio Show” set but becomes interactive with the entire audience.

Absolute Theatre Company was established in North Carolina in 1992 as a not-for-profit professional-styled theater and has traveled and produced in Oregon, L.A., toured Southern California, Hendersonville, and Saluda, N.C., as well as Irmo since 2002.
