This group event for local artists is hosted at Forward Counseling. This session will be facilitated by Michael Murray and Jay Z. Little, LPC. The group will address ways artists can better sustain themselves as separate entities and as a cohesive unit, mentally, emotionally, and materially.

Mr. Murray is a local artist, business owner, and community activist. He’s also a board member of “Alternate Roots,” a regional arts nonprofit whose mission is “to support the creation and presentation of original art, in all its forms, which is rooted in a particular community of place, tradition or spirit.”

Mr. Little is a licensed therapist, researcher, and business and programs consultant. He’s the owner of Forward Counseling and Consulting, a private practice that utilizes the TLC therapy method and is inclusive of all people. One Columbia is One Community, and Forward Counseling utilizes the Truth, Love, Community model in all its therapy practices.

The goal is to make this initiative a fun, consistent, safe space for local artists. We will practice self-care with honest conversation and reflection, a few laughs, and delicious fare provided by Chef Gregory Jones Jr.
