Museum of Oz

Presented by South Carolina State Museum at South Carolina State Museum

On Saturday, October 1 the South Carolina State Museum will transform into the Museum of Oz, full of exciting events for the entire family all month. From the giant 30ft long x 12ft high witches legs (we landed on the Wicked Witch of the East), the winding yellow brick road leading to a magical haunted forest, the Rev. Solomon Jackson Jr. 4-D Theater showing Wizard of Oz 4-D Experience, guests will be whisked away to the wonderful Land of Oz.  With Saturdays in Oz, Tin Man Trivia Tuesdays and the always popular signature event, Growl at the Moon returning for its third year, this October will be filled with magic at the State Museum.

Museum of Oz October Activities Include:

The Wizard of Oz 4-D Experience (Oct. 1 – Nov. 4): Playing in the Rev. Dr. Solomon Jackson, Jr. 4-D Theater, The Wizard of Oz comes alive as never before in the amazing 16 minute 4-D experience. With digital 3-D and state-of-the-art special effects including wind, lightening and many more surprises, this beloved classic becomes a modern 4-D adventure as the infamous tornado carries guests to the magical Land of Oz. Guests will join Dorothy, Scarecrow, Tin Man, Cowardly Lion and even the Wicked Witch as they follow the Yellow Brick Road to the Emerald City.

The Wizard of Oz 4-D Experience was produced by SimEx-Iwerks Entertainment, through a license agreement with Warner Bros. Consumer Products. SimEx-Iwerks is the leading innovator of immersive 3-D and 4-D attractions and the exclusive distributor of the industry’s best-selling film titles.
