The Lourie Center will hold its 2016 Fall Festival on Friday October 7, 8 am to 1 pm.  The event is free and open to the public.  This annual festival is a fun and informative senior wellness expo featuring local senior service representatives, health screenings, flu shots, a chili luncheon, and an assortment of entertainment and activities. 

 

Highlights include:

·         Representatives from over 50 Senior Service Vendors and Community Partner Organizations

·         Flu Shots Available, courtesy of Walgreen’s Pharmacy.  Bring your Medicare card or $30.

·         Free BMI/Weight Screenings, courtesy of Palmetto Health

·         Free Carotid Artery Disease Screenings, courtesy of Advanced Diagnostics

·         Free Trigger Point Therapy Sessions

·         Otoscopic Screenings, courtesy of Doctors Care TruHearing Program

·         A Chili Buffet Lunch ($6 pp)

·         Musical Performances by the Dick Goodwin and Friends, Singer/Songwriter Bob Benjamin

·         Demonstrations by the Lourie Center’s Exercise and Dance classes 

·         Lourie Center Jewelry Class Jewelry Sale

·         Door Prizes throughout the day

·         50/50 Cash Raffle

 

“The Fall Festival is always a fun day for everyone,” says Sandra Owensby, Executive Director at the Lourie Center.  “Not only is it an easy way to get information on many senior services in the area, but the Fall Festival offers the community an affordable and entertaining morning out with friends.  We encourage those who are already seniors as well as those who have senior parents to stop by and visit the Lourie Center on October 7.”

 

The Lourie Center’s Wheels shuttle bus will be providing free transportation to the Center from Christopher Towers, Finley House, and Marion Street Apartments residences, 8 am-1 pm.
