Grit: A Unique View of Adluh

Grit: A Unique View of Adluh

Presented by Frame of Mind, The Art of Eyewear at Frame of Mind

Adluh Flour, a cultural landmark for the city of Columbia. Anyone that has spent the slightest bit of time in Columbia knows of the historic mill with the lit up A D L U H on top of it. It is one of the most cherished sites in the midlands.

Grit: A Unique View of Adluh gave five artists the opportunity to see (and document) a side of the mill that is rarely seen. Indeed, they documented a view of the mill that is no longer in existence. Whitney LeJeune, Dan Newbanks, Alicia Leeke, John Powell and Jenna Sach were invited in to a part of the mill that would soon house Old Chicago Pizza and Taproom. Before it was demolished and rebuilt (the interior that is) they were given carte blanche to go where they wanted and document what they wanted. Grit, the exhibition, is the result of this opportunity. Come experience what these five artists saw.

The opening reception is part of the State Street Art Crawl, happening on Friday September 2nd. Please come and enjoy some light refreshements and talk with the artists about their art.
