Physics & Astronomy Colloquium: "Our Place in the Cosmos"

The new Distinguished Lecture Series in Physics and Astronomy, sponsored by the USC Provost and the Vice President for Research, begins Fall 2016. Each speaker in this series will give an open colloquium, presented at a level approachable by any interested undergraduate students.

Dr. Mario Livio is an internationally renowned astrophysicist, a best-selling author, and a popular speaker. He is a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and has published more than 400 scientific papers on topics ranging from Dark Energy and cosmology to black holes and extrasolar planets. Dr. Livio is also the author of five popular science books. Dr. Livio’s recent book, Brilliant Blunders, was on the Best-Sellers List of the New York Times and selected by the Washington Post as one of the “2013 Best Books of the Year.”

This special colloquium will be held in the Ernest F. Hollings Special Collections Library in Program Room #132. Refreshments will be served!
