Remembering Columbia Series and Book Signing

Remembering Columbia Series and Book Signing

Presented by Historic Columbia at Robert Mills Carriage House

Building on the success of his new book, Remembering Columbia, HC’s Director of Cultural Resources John Sherrer revises his four part speaking series to guide us through a visual road map of the Columbia’s past to present. These discussions will explore materials not covered in the September series.  Drawn from a rich collection of private and institutional archives, the images we’ll examine during this lecture series trace over 150 years of our city’s history. Guaranteed to be of interest to new comers and life-long residents alike, this glimpse into the past is a must-see, must-do program for those who find that #historyiscool!

Using historic photographs as a vehicle to discover stories of Columbia and Richland County, Sherrer will lead participants through conversations and activities that explore Columbia’s past. Learn about the events, places and people that have shaped our community’s history through these featured photographs, many of which have never been seen by the public before this lecture series.
