This workshop will explore different ways to decorate unfired clay pieces.
This workshop will explore numerous possibilities for decorating the unfired clay surface. Greenware decoration creates a starting point for more complex surfaces, using fewer glazes. Stencils, inlay, etching, trailing, and more will be demonstrated using leather hard to bone dry clay. White and black slip, underglaze, and oxide stains will be used for decoration. Participants are encouraged to bring 2 leather hard pieces to practice the techniques. Clay tiles and small pots will be provided for those who do not have their own.
