Join Historic Columbia for a Research Roundtable about the LGBTQ Columbia History Initiative and documenting the often unseen and unheard stories of Columbia’s LGBTQ+ citizens
Join Historic Columbia as Katharine Allen, Director of Research, presents on the joys and challenges of documenting the often unseen and unheard stories of Columbia’s LGBTQ+ citizens. In addition to sharing the project’s first-year accomplishments and newly available resources, Allen will walk participants through how to research specific sites and events using two contrasting case studies: the building that once stood at 1232 Assembly Street (Our Place) and the Queer Nation protest at Cracker Barrel.
