The 2016 Midlands Farm Tour: Local farms, local flavor, local fun!

From strawberries, to honey; heirlooms to heritage hogs – this year’s Midlands Farm Tour has local variety at its best! The Midlands Food Alliance invites you to meet our local farmers on their farms and learn about the importance of supporting them!

The 2016 Midlands Farm Tour will be held Saturday, May 21st from 11:00 am until 6:00 p.m. Ticket prices are $15 for all farms included on the tour; with $10 early-bird tickets available until May 1st. Children under 10, WIC, SNAP and EBT beneficiaries and families are free of charge with proof of eligibility! Purchase tickets or signup to volunteer at www.MidlandsFarmTour.com.

The tour is a self-guided, one day event. At each farm you can meet the farmers and staff, their family and staff, tour the property, explore what is harvested, and ask questions. Be sure to also sign the Local Food Pledge at any farm stop on the tour, committing to spend $10 weekly on SC-grown products and support food systems planning in county and municipal plans. Please note that some farms have livestock and honeybees on premises. Most farms will have goods for sale and a variety of items to sample!
