African Dance Class

Presented by Lourie Center at Lourie Center

The Lourie Center is offering Funga, an African Dance class, on Saturdays January 16- March 19, 11 am -12 pm.  Funga is a welcome dance from Liberia, West Africa. This is a low-impact class with gentle stretching and rhythmic movements.  Classes are taught with live drumming.

 

Free and open to adults of all ages.

Tremontenia Morgan (Queen T) is the African Dance instructor at the Lourie Center. She has been dancing since the age of 10, performed all over the east coast, in Canada, France, and at an Inaugural Ball for President Obama in Washington, DC.  She teaches dances from Senegal, West Africa, Ivory Coast, Guinea and Liberia.
