Jolene is a woman who is obsessed with Elvis and has finally made her way to Memphis. Much to her dismay, she and her husband, Earl, have been unable to have a child. At her Mama’s urging, Jolene visits Graceland and prays at the King’s grave asking for a baby. Much to her joy, Elvis grants her wish! Jolene and Earl move into Graceland Mobile Estates where they meet Ruby, a temptress who looks surprisingly like Dolly Parton. When Jolene gives birth to a baby girl (played by an adult), life becomes complicated. Presley Ann, the miracle child, quickly grows into a resentful teenager and Jolene alienates everyone, but finally learns she can be somebody worthwhile on her own.
The production brings together talented local theater favorites Rene Littell as the Elvis obsessed Jolene; Jeff Sigley as her lazy husband Earl; Nancy Smith as interfering Mama; Linda Brochin as the busybody neighbor Ruby; and Kari Tilghman in the role of the miracle child from the King himself, Presley Ann. The production team is led by On Stage Productions Executive Director Robert Harrelson and assistant director Linda Brochin with music direction by the consummate John Norris and choreography by resident choreographer Melissa Raynor Berry.
