Beethoven & Blue Jeans 2021 featuring Fidelo Overture and James Lee III

Presented by South Carolina Philharmonic at Koger Center for the Arts

The SC Philharmonic performs Beethoven & Blue Jeans Saturday, April 24 at 6:00 pm and 8:00 pm with a live stream of the 8:00 pm show. The stream is available on demand for one week after the April 24 performance. The concert is co-sponsored by Dominion Energy and the Baker & Baker Foundation.

Our annual Beethoven & Blue Jeans features Beethoven’s Fidelio Overture and Symphony No. 2, along with Emotive Transformations by contemporary American composer James Lee III.

Beethoven: Symphony No. 2 in D Major op. 36

Beethoven & Blue Jeans is often our most popular concert of the season. Audience members and Philharmonic musicians are encouraged to wear jeans to the concert hall for a relaxed and comfortable experience. The SC Philharmonic works closely with the Koger Center for the Arts and the University of South Carolina to develop socially distanced seating and comprehensive safety policies including a mask requirement.
