Taking the Mystery out of Sgraffito/Mishima/Neriage-Colored Slip

This workshop will cover multiple techniques to learn about sgraffito/Mishima and Neriage-colored slip. Students will learn about “Gram Scales” to make their own colored slip, colored clay, glazes and underglazes. There will also be a section on making Neriage (layered multi-colored blocks). Participants will be provided a number of “take home” items as part of the registration fee including some of the instructor’s “original drawings, suitable for the process of the Sgraffito technique”. The instructor, Nancy Grills, is a watercolor Artist and a potter. Workshop is April 30 from 10 am to 4 pm at Edisto Discovery Park, Columbia, SC. Registration fee of $125 is due by the deadline of April 15. The workshop is suitable for any level of pottery experience. There will be a maximum of 8 participants and a minimum of 4.
